Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems

Distinct Temperature Control In Heating Mode During Moderate Temperatures

With the rise in use of Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) some concerns have arisen in regards to tight temperature  control in the heating mode during moderate OA temperatures.  Aaon has the perfect solution!  Aaon can provide an air source heat pump with modulating compressors (10-100% modulation) on all of their RQ/RN style rooftop and CB/CC condensing units that range from 2-70 tons.  This will provide a turndown of 5-10% in the heating mode and maintain a Coefficient of     Performance in the 3.0 range at 40°F.  An electric heater will increase the unit MOCP and provide a COP of 1.0.  Why provide additional components such as electric heaters when you can utilize the existing compressors to create the turndown you need at a more economical cost to the owner and reduced operating costs?

Aaon’s Mass Customization principles can give you the answers you need.  With over 450 options available on their RQ/RN rooftop units its difficult to find an obstacle Aaon cannot overcome.
