Aaon continues to lead our industry in innovation by creating products that improve today’s building efficiencies. Typical system designs exhaust the restroom air out of the building due to their Class 2 air rating. The energy from this air was not recovered in the past because of the inability to separate the toilet exhaust from the RA stream. Now you can harness the energy of toilet exhaust to pre-heat or cool OA, keep the air streams separate, and still provide economizer operation.
As shown in the diagrams to the right, there is a separate duct connection for both the RA and toilet exhaust. The toilet exhaust is sent through the heat wheel and exits the unit. The RA enters the unit and 2 sets of dampers work in conjunction to dictate how much RA will mix with OA or go through the heat wheel and exit the unit. Due to this damper arrangement full economizer operation is still available. By designing this unit into your building you can increase the system efficiency, eliminate a separate EF, power supply and controls, and have single source responsibility. |
