Electrode Humidification

Welcome back humidification season!  Now is the time of the year where we meet the challenge of maintaining ASHRAE’s            recommended 40-60% RH.  One of the most common forms of steam humidifiers is the electrode steam humidifier.  Electrode steam humidifiers use the conductivity of potable water to boil it and provide clean atmospheric steam.  It is preferred to not have softened water in order to maintain the ability to transmit energy through the water.  Each humidifier includes one or more plastic cylinders containing a pair of electrodes and a mesh assembly.  The system contains on/off or modulating control to insure the proper RH is maintained.  With the modulating option a minimum turndown of 8% can be achieved to satisfy the most strict             application.  Distribution can be accomplished with stainless steel duct distributors or a room distribution unit.  All VAPAC    humidifiers come standard with a stainless steel drain pan in the cabinet and the ability to temper the drain water internally to meet local building codes.
