Humidity control during the winter is just as important as dehumidification in the summer. As we continue to heat along the sensible line the supply air is dehumidified, causing moisture to be absorbed from the space and reducing the overall relative humidity of the air. Variations in the humidity of ambient air can have undesirable or harmful effects upon surrounding objects. Objects either absorb or give up water content until a point of equilibrium with its environment is reached. Objects such as paper, wool, cotton, tobacco, timber, furniture, plants, animals and even people are affected by relative humidity. Dry atmosphere can cause textiles carpet, wood paper, leather, plastics, etc. to shrink, harden, crack, spoil, and lose weight. Results can be damaging, expensive and uncomfortable. Some of the benefits of humidification include increased employee comfort and productivity, protection of valuable furnishings and art, provide the environment required for specific processes, maintain materials, reduce static electricity, and reduce the likelihood of airborne virus distribution to name a few. Today’s equipment provides you with multiple solutions based on your customers needs. |
