Welcome to   S    LUTIONS, a monthly newsletter provided by Jacco & Associates. Jacco’s focus on system knowledge provides you with the engineering support and product solutions for your applications.

Text Box: December Feature:

Jacco & Toxalert has your gas detection solutions.  Gas detection is provided to maintain human health and comfort by monitoring chemical levels in the space, and then taking appropriate action to maintain a healthy environment.

What sensors does Toxalert carry?  Some of the most common sensors are carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), volatile organic compounds (VOC), refrigerants, oxygen (O2), ammonia (NH3), chlorine (CL2), ethylene (ETO), hydrogen (H2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), hydrogen chloride (HCL), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), and sulphur dioxide (SO2).  If you have an application that is not on this list, please contact your Jacco salesperson.

How many sensors do I need?  1 sensor is installed for every 5,000ft² in an occupied space, or 1 sensor every 10,000ft² for an unoccupied space.  If the area has small alcoves you may need more sensors to cover “dead” spots.

What are some common applications?  CO is used in gasoline engine applications such as indoor parking facilities.  CO2 is used in diesel applications such as vehicle maintenance garages.  NO2 is also used in diesel applications, specifically when there is a direct fired make up air unit serving the area.  Direct fired units release CO2 which throws the readings for the diesel emissions off.  These are the most common applications, for others please contact your Jacco salesperson.

How do I price a system? See pricing below.  Each controller contains an exhaust fan relay.  The GVU controllers can take any combination of sensors up to the maximum number listed.  One calibration kit is required for each type of sensor.  Startup and calibration is provided by Jacco and included in your pricing.  Wiring is by others.
